ATTN: Kansas City Historical and Art Collectors For Sale from the Stowe Hardware Building & Company, 1322 W.13th Street, Kansas City, MO 1) Solid Walnut conference table (48" x 96") with 9 captain chairs and 1/4'' glass. American Empire design Circa 1880 2) Elaborate gilt framed oil portrait of Colonel James Gardner Stowe. (First Ambassador to South Africa and 33rd Degree Mason) Painted by noted artist E.A. Filleau in 1907. He is listed in Davenport's Art Reference Guide. (38 1/2x51 1/2) Both table set and portrait were valued by certified appraisal in 1991. The picture and frame was appraised at $6400 and the table set was appraised at $5000. Both are in my son's office in the city market. Serious offers & inquiries only. Can be seen by appointment only. Other memorabilia is included with table and/or picture purchase. EXQUISITE BLACK LACQUER ORIENTAL VINTAGE COFFEE TABLE. MEASURES 40" X 20" X 18.5" HIGH....PAINTED DETAIL WITH CABRIOLET LEGS AND INLAY MOTHER OF PEARL. THE TOP IS INSET WITH BEAUTIFUL SOAPSTONE CARVINGS. THIS IS A VINTAGE TABLE FROM THE 70'S AND IS VERY HEAVY AND DETAILED. LAST TWO PHOTOS SHOW UNDERSIDE OF TABLE. THE 2 SMALL TAN PATCHES ARE ORIGINAL WRAPPING PAPER STILL ON TABLE. NO DAMAGE UNDERNEATH. COFFEE TABLE HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. Up for sale is an Antique Victorian Eastlake Folding Rocking/Sewing/Nursing Chair with tapestry fabric back and seat. Queen Anne style. Though Eastlake furniture is technically considered Victorian, being popular from 1870-1890, it breaks away from the excessive high relief carving, classical elements and numerous curves of other styles produced during this time frame. Tapestry on back needs tacked back on. The rocking chair is 35" tall open with rocker length of 29". Chair is 18 1/4" wide and 14 1/4" deep.
