Consumer confidence unexpectedly shaky

Confidence among U.S. consumers unexpectedly fell in November for the second consecutive month as surging unemployment shook households. The Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary index of consumer sentiment decreased to 66 from 70.6 in October. The gauge was projected to rise.

Kellogg expects waffle shortage into next year

Kellogg Co., said flooding at an Atlanta facility and repairs at a Tennessee factory will cause Eggo waffle shortages through the middle of next year. The scarcity was triggered by September’s floods in the southeastern U.S., which temporarily closed an Atlanta waffle factory, as well as by equipment problems at the company’s largest waffle plant, in Rossville, Tenn.
