Lenexa-based Rush Tracking Systems has been acquired by Pharos Capital Group, a private equity firm based in Nashville and Dallas, the companies said Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the companies said the agreement included a capital investment that would allow Rush, which specializes in outfitting warehouses with radio frequency identification technology, to grow at an accelerated pace.
Quaint downtown Parkville might have quivered a bit when shiny new shopping centers began to open nearby. And while some small business left for these greener paved pastures, other local entrepreneurs have settled in with offerings that are draws in themselves.

The jeweler selected the acts — which involve many local organizations — through discussions with employees at its stores on the Country Club Plaza and Briarcliff Village in Kansas City, and Hawthorne Plaza in Overland Park.

Although the Pleasant Hill firm has invested heavily in its plant and the tools of the trade, CEO Bob Krug said equipment isn’t what sets the company apart from other metal fabricators.
