KU’s Frank Mason is AP college basketball player of the year

Kansas Jayhawks guard Frank Mason III is the 2016-17 Associated Press college basketball player of the year. Mason led KU to its 13th consecutive Big 12 title. He received 37 votes Thursday from the same 65-member media panel that selects the weekly AP Top 25. Gonzaga’s Mark Few won the AP coach of the year award.
