Royals’ skid continues with 6-0 loss to the Mariners

Saturday night in Seattle, the Royals dropped a 6-0 decision to the Mariners, losing for the fifth time in six days, careening aimlessly as the calendar turned to May. An opening month that began with so much promise — an 8-2 start and a World Series ring ceremony at Kauffman Stadium — ended with a series of duds on a West Coast road trip.

Missouri needs a total ban on dangerous texting while driving

More drivers adhered to the rules in states with anti-texting laws than in states without them. That’s bad news for motorists in Missouri, because it’s one of four states – along with Arizona, Montana and Texas – without comprehensive bans on texting.

Pull a Plane raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City

Thirty teams competed Saturday at Kansas City International Airport to see which one could pull a FedEx Boeing 757 jet 12 feet the quickest. The Pull a Plane competition is an annual fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. The teams raised more than $80,000.
