Even if KU men’s basketball coach Bill Self projects a comfort in his own skin rare in such a high-profile job, he also appreciates that it’s vital for him to unplug and exercise. So walking several miles at a time has become his routine escape hatch. He also enjoys reading and keeping up with the news while off the court.

Ryan Stokes family wants answers about his fatal shooting by KC police

A prayer vigil and press conference for Ryan Stokes was held on Wednesday at the corner of 12th and McGee streets in downtown Kansas City where Stokes was fatally shot by police in 2013. The Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Kansas City has asked the U.S. attorney general's office and the FBI to investigate the shooting.
