More details from Yordano Ventura’s final night; police investigating speed as factor in wreck

Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura attended a festival with friends on Saturday night in the Dominican province of San Jose de Ocoa before he traveled north toward Cibao in his custom white Jeep, which he bought after signing a five-year contract with the Royals before the 2015 season. Ventura died early Sunday after his Jeep crashed, destroying a guard rail, and he was ejected from the vehicle. Police say speed may have factored into the wreck.
