A civil trial is to begin this week in a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by a priest decades ago. Filed by a former altar boy, the lawsuit alleges that the diocese failed to supervise a priest who repeatedly abused him. The Kansas City Star published a three-day series in December 2011 called “The Altar Boys’ Secret” that told the story of Jon David Couzens and the three other altar boys.
