Blinded dog Roadrunner’s recovery has been ‘amazing’

The KC Pet Project took advantage of Wednesday’s nice weather to share an update on the recovery of Roadrunner, the dog who needed to have his eyes removed because of alleged severe abuse. Roadrunner, who is believed to be a small brown Tibetan spaniel, was severely injured when he was allegedly thrown from a third-floor balcony of an apartment building.

Chipotle’s Pizzeria Locale coming to Waldo

Pizzeria Locale, a partnership between Chipotle and Colorado restaurateurs Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, plans to open this summer at 505 W. 75th St., next to a Chipotle. Pizzeria Locale currently has locations in Boulder and Denver.

Kansas City hopes to replace deteriorating Chouteau Courts housing project

Kansas City Housing Authority leaders are putting the finishing touches on a plan to replace the city’s most deteriorated and obsolete public housing project: Chouteau Courts, northwest of Independence Avenue and the Paseo. The plan calls for relocating about 500 residents of the apartment buildings to smaller mixed-income sites over the next five years. It also aims to improve the area’s educational, health, business development and social services.
