Ouster of Wayne Cauthen shakes up city

Thursday’s surprise ouster of Wayne Cauthen as city manager could well rattle Kansas City far beyond his office on the 29th floor of City Hall. The removal was so messy, critics said Friday, it could complicate the city’s budget crisis, create further tension on the council and damage the city’s tarnished image.

Mangino is expected to coach at Texas; chancellor supports Perkins

AUSTIN, Texas | Kansas coach Mark Mangino is expected to arrive in Texas tonight with the team and coach in Saturday night’s game against the Longhorns. The KU athletic department’s investigation into Mangino’s treatment of players has continued into the weekend.

Lance Long can’t afford bad days or sick days. Can’t deliver a lazy practice or run a sloppy route. Long has to be almost perfect. Otherwise, someone might notice that he doesn’t seem to belong as a Chiefs wide receiver.
