In stunning move, Cauthen is ousted as city manager

Two years ago, Mayor Mark Funkhouser of Kansas City tried to remove Wayne Cauthen as city manager. On Thursday, he finally succeeded in a move that passed the City Council by just one vote and that took City Hall completely by surprise.

AUSTIN, Texas | Kansas coach Mark Mangino is expected to arrive in Texas tonight with the team and coach in Saturday night’s game against the Longhorns. The KU athletic department’s investigation into Mangino’s treatment of players has continued into the weekend.

Lance Long can’t afford bad days or sick days. Can’t deliver a lazy practice or run a sloppy route. Long has to be almost perfect. Otherwise, someone might notice that he doesn’t seem to belong as a Chiefs wide receiver.
