Tens of thousands of gay and bisexual men were convicted of “gross indecency.” On Wednesday, the British government announced that it would posthumously pardon those who had been convicted.
Two men charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Johnson County deputy sheriff made brief court appearances Thursday. Attorneys for William Luth and Brady Newman-Caddell asked for more time to review the “voluminous” evidence in the case before a preliminary hearing is set. They are next scheduled to be in court on Dec. 16.
