To kick off the Salvation Army bell ringing season which begins Friday, an inflatable kettle was set up Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the gateway to the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park, Riverfront Drive and Front Street. The giant kettle was set up on the top of a building for a couple of days last season, but this is the first year that the public will be able to see it for the entire bell ringing season, which ends Christmas Eve. To kick off the Salvation Army bell ringing season which begins Friday, a lighted kettle was set up Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Broadway Boulevard and 13th Street in Kansas City.
