Jackson was one of seven soldiers killed when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive devise while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash. Jackson is survived by his wife Kristen Northrup Jackson and son Enoch Jackson. The couple is expecting another child. His funeral is scheduled to be held in Lathrop High School gymnasium at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
