Tablet-computer craze will be short-lived, Sprint exec says

Fared Adib, vice president of product development for Sprint Nextel Corp., said in an interview with Blomberg News that the craze for tablet computers in the U.S., led by Apple Inc.’s iPad, will temper as competition forces more than half of manufacturers to abandon the market in the next two years.

The Wall Street Journal, citing mostly anonymous sources, is reporting that Overland Park-based Sprint Nextel Corp. is shutting out Chinese telecommunications-equipment makers Huawei Technologies Ltd. and ZTE Corp. from billions of dollars in potential contracts.

Newsweek rates Sprint Nextel the most eco-friendly wireless company

Newsweek magazine has released the ratings of what it considers the greenest corporations in the world. Overland Park-based Sprint Nextel Corp. scored 6th in the magazine's ratings of the 500 largest publicly traded American companies and was the highest-ranked telecommunications company on the list.
