With new homesites and custom construction opportunities available in several of Cedar Creek’s neighborhoods, there has never been a better time to purchase within the sprawling, resortlike community, said Ken Rosberg, president of Cedar Creek Realty.

And during the Spring Homes Tour, prospective residents can tour new award-winning, furnished models that Rosberg said continue to incorporate the superior design aesthetic and spacious floor plans that speak to the quality of the homes within the community.

The Woods of Southglen offers flat, daylight and walk-out homesites that are enhanced by the natural contours of the surrounding terrain. Spacious lots ensure that homes are close enough to encourage a sense of community, yet large enough that homeowners retain a sense of privacy and exclusion within the residential enclave, Rosberg said. Prospective buyers can select from a variety of floor plans from several of the area’s esteemed builders, he said. Homes range in size from 2,800 to 4,500 square feet and prices range from $375,000 to $700,000. Rosberg said lot reservations will begin for 77 new lots today and prices will be available at Cedar Creek today.

Numerous new award-winning, furnished model homes are available to tour, including The Traveler Estate, a two-story plan from KC Building Co.; The Sequoia XP, a two-story home from KC Builders and Design; The Woodvale, a reverse 1 1/2 -story floor plan from B.L. Rieke & Associates; The Ashton, a reverse 1 1/2 -story from Cecil and Ray Homes; and The Antiqua, a 1 1/2 -story plan from Glen Mock Homes. Model prices range from the low $400,000s to the mid-$600,000s.

Rosberg describes Southglen of Cedar Creek as the more economical option for those who crave the complete lifestyle available within this master-planned community. Floor plans range in size from 2,600 to 3,500 square feet and homes are priced from $300,000 to $600,000. Several custom-built opportunities, as well as resale properties, are available for prospective buyers who want to enjoy the summer “in paradise,” Rosberg said. Features of Southglen include walking paths, a neighborhood pond and being near one of two community swimming pools, making Southglen what Rosberg describes as an ideal escape for those who want to enjoy an active lifestyle in an affordably priced home.

Homes in the neighborhoods of the Villas of Shadow Glen and North Shore Estates are especially popular, Rosberg said.

“Only four lots remain on the golf course in the new phase. So if you want to live in a top-quality, maintenance-provided villa on the Shadow Glen Golf Club, you need to get out to Cedar Creek soon,” he said.

Award-winning, reverse 1 1/2 -story furnished model homes by Dakota Homes and B.L. Rieke & Associates are open daily from noon to 6 p.m. and are shown by appointment at other times.

“In North Shore Estates, Bruce Rieke has a spectacular show home under construction right on the second hole of Shadow Glen,” Rosberg said. “It’s scheduled for completion just in time for the 2008 Fall Parade of Homes and priced at $1.95 million.”

The spacious layout includes a finished lower level, five-car garage, four bedrooms, swimming pool, outdoor living area, wine cellar, media room, game room, great room, study, breakfast room and more. The floor plan was designed by Fred Kohlmeyer.

Cedar Creek is a 4,500-acre master-planned community six minutes west of Interstate 435 on Kansas 10. In addition to the maintenance-provided neighborhoods, it offers more than a dozen single-family home neighborhoods with prices from the mid-$300,000s to more than $5 million.

Aside from the Shadow Glen Golf Club and Shadow Lake, the resort lifestyle continues in Cedar Creek’s other amenities, including two swimming pools, walking trails, parks, green space, a racquet club, tennis courts, indoor basketball court and more.

Cedar Creek is served by the Olathe School District, anchored by Cedar Creek Elementary, Prairie Trail Junior High and Olathe Northwest High schools.
