Garbett Homes is building its newest luxury townhome community in the Northland, priced from $174,900. The Townhomes at Shoal Creek Valley feature 64 homes in what the developer described as an innovative setting within the award-winning Shoal Creek Valley master-planned development.

The distinctive home styles take advantage of timeless urban design with a contemporary flair, according to the developer. Homes have up to three bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and two-car attached garages.

“Suburban Missouri has been plagued by the Midwest’s insatiable desire for French country and Craftsman bungalow home styles,” said Rene Oehlerking, marketing director for Garbett Homes. “We’re breaking the mold with these new designs at Shoal Creek. They’re fresh and functional with a distinctive contemporary modern influence. Our market studies have shown that buyers in Missouri are ready for something new.

“This is a fun, active community with exciting features built in to enhance interaction and movement. This is a place that promotes friendly streets and walkable neighborhoods with connectivity to home, recreation, work and shopping,” he continued. “With plenty of amenities at Shoal Creek, you can bike or jog along a trail, walk to a nearby eatery and spend time at public gathering places.

“You can walk your children across the street to the Liberty Oaks Elementary School within the award-winning Liberty School District. You can relax in the swimming pool while your children play on the water slides in the Park House residential retreat and water park. You can enjoy a game of tennis or a round of golf at the Clayview Country Club located within walking distance of the townhomes within the Shoal Creek Valley community.”

Oehlerking said this is a community where people feel a sense of place with landscape designs and streetscapes that make coming home “an absolute pleasure.”

“This is a vibrant, sustainable community and uses the land the best way possible with its natural habitat and water resources, while promoting the wise use of energy,” he said.

With these innovative designs and features, according to Oehlerking, one would expect to pay handsomely to live in the Shoal Creek Valley. “The first-time buyer would be left out of a community with such high expectations,” he said. “With home prices sky-rocketing and the real estate industry in a slump, the first-time homebuyer is left with very few options. Garbett Homes sees things differently.”

“All the townhomes in Shoal Creek will be priced within reach of the first-time buyer,” said Edie Waters, sales associate. “We are committed to building homes that everyone can afford. Our communities are places where families can raise their children in maintenance-free environments with walking trails, landscaped open spaces and many other attractive amenities.

“These townhomes, starting at $174,900, are brimming with luxury amenities,” Waters said. Standard features include built-in stainless steel microwaves, dishwashers and garbage disposals, as well as designer maple cabinetry. Kitchens are tiled and Moen faucets grace the stainless steel sinks.

Other interior features include garages with automatic openers, 9-foot ceilings, central air and recessed light fixtures. All homes are pre-wired for cable, phone and high-speed Internet access. With all of these features as standard, buyers can still upgrade and customize their homes to fit their individual tastes, Waters said.
