Notes

Despite the recent domination by Kyle Busch, Ron Hornaday Jr has a lockon this year's points race with just two races remaining. Busch, who's won hislast five straight Truck Series starts, ranks 18th on the points list, as hehas competed in just 13 events this year. Hornaday, on the other hand, hasrecorded six wins, 14 top-five finishes and 18 top-10's in 23 starts. He leadsMatt Crafton by 197 points. Although never a winner at this race, Hornadaydoes boast a pair of runner-up finishes (2005, 2007). He is quite familiarwith the track, posting Truck Series wins in 1998 and 1999 in the springraces.Busch is the man to beat this week, as he has recorded some impressive numbersin just 13 starts. He has recorded seven wins, 10 top-five finishes, 12top-10's and two poles, with an average finish of 3.8.A win this week would guarantee the series championship for Hornaday, thoughit's not the only way. If he leaves Phoenix with at least a 195-point leadover second place, he clinches. Even if he doesn't, his championship prospectslook solid. Hornaday can clinch with a 22nd-place average finish over thefinal two races.Last season, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch battled throughout the entire race, but it was Harvick who crossed the finish line first, as he defeated thedefending champion by 0.940 of a second. Harvick led twice for 60 laps, whileBusch led twice for a race-high 90 laps. Pole sitter Ron Hornaday Jr was nevera factor, as he finished a distant 25th. After Busch led the first 55 laps,Harvick took over for the next nine; however, Busch reclaimed the lead on the65th lap. Harvick returned to the top spot on the 100th lap and held it therest of the way for his third career Truck Series win.Kyle Busch led the final 42 laps in 2007 to record his sixth of 16 careerTruck Series titles, as he defeated Hornaday Jr by less than a second. MikeBliss led for a race-high 54 laps and finished third, while pole sitter MikeSkinner placed eighth. In 2006, pole sitter Johnny Benson edged Mark Martin by less than a second torecord his fifth of 14 career Camping World Truck Series titles. Bensonreclaimed the lead from Martin on lap 121, and the held it for the final 30circuits before an estimated crowd of 30,000. Martin, who started ninth, ledtwice for a race-high 82 laps, while Benson led for 31 laps. The Camping World Truck Series wraps up their 2009 season with the Ford 200 onNovember 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where Todd Bodine is the defendingrace winner.11/10 15:04:23 ET
