Revenues for Crown Media Holdings Inc., operator of the Hallmark Channel, gained 32 percent to $70.6 million, while its loss narrowed to 14 cents a share from 38 cents.
Advertising revenues were up 23 percent to $56.4 million, while subscriber fees grew 85 percent to $13.9 million. The company lost $14.7 million, compared with a loss of $40.2 million for the same period last year.
The company also posted $14.5 million in adjusted EBITDA - earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, compared with a loss of $5.1 million for the same period last year.
The cable operator’s number of subscribers grew to 84.2 million, up 11 percent from 76.2 million as of March 31, 2007.
Crown Media is mostly owned by Kansas City based Hallmark Cards Inc. At mid-morning, the company’s stock was trading at $4.81 a share, up 23 cents.
