Seclusion and upgrades without the upgraded price are waiting for homebuyers at Clinton Estates, where builder and developer Wayne Weigel promises a “rural environment with city amenities.” Prospective buyers can also take advantage of a variety of sales specials and incentives, Weigel said.

“These are not your traditional subdivision standards,” he said. “Here we’ve gone ‘a step above,’ with something a little nicer.”

Reinforcing that point, Weigel’s company, Wayne’s Custom Homes, garnered a first runner-up award in the American Dream competition of the 2006 Spring Homes Tour sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City.

Homebuyers can select from one of Weigel’s 15 floor plans or work with him to create a custom-built home.

“Anything I can possibly let a customer pick, I’ll use those selections to create a customized home,” he said. “We’ll work with clients to help create their dream home.”

Weigel’s homes include solid wood doors, 48-ounce plush carpet, vinyl siding, large porches and/or decks and storm rooms. Weigel also incorporates oak trim throughout the homes, which he said is generally considered an upgrade in other subdivisions. “When people tour the homes, they’ve responded well to our use of natural woodwork,” he said.

Homes in Clinton Estates are priced from $209,900 to $324,900, which includes the lot, and the majority of the homes are built by Wayne’s Custom Homes. The second phase of construction in Clinton Estates is well under way and Weigel said that several homes are complete or near completion. Clinton Estates will be completed in three phases.

In addition to the single-family home neighborhood, work has begun on the maintenance-provided homes segment of Clinton Estates. Homes are expected to start at $199,900.

Clinton Estates affords residents the seclusion and peaceful setting found only in a rural location, Weigel said. Because the community is just off of U.S. 169, residents can enjoy convenient access to Liberty, downtown Kansas City and the Country Club Plaza. Clinton Estates is served by the Plattsburg School District.

With planned amenities such as a fishing pond, picnic area, clubhouse and swimming pool, Clinton Estates offers several ways in which homeowners — from young families to empty nesters — can take advantage of the scenic location.
