VOICES 04/30/08
I’m responding to the article “New center offers hope for dealing with autism” (4/27, Local). Once again, everybody is forgetting these kids will grow up. You’re only a kid for 21 years. I am a 49-year-old man with Asperger’s, and we need help with employment badly.

Although I am no fan of Phill Kline and his white, right-wing friends, especially the evangelical right, I think Mr. Judge’s cartoon (4/26) crosses the line in equating Kline with a fictional mass murderer like Hannibal Lecter.Gerry Wilson

In response to Donna Podgornik (4/25, Voices), Hillary Clinton was very involved with the passage of children’s health care. Ted Kennedy said that he and Hillary worked together on this, and she was instrumental in getting it passed.Sam Stone

Criticism about the articulation of two KU basketball players (4/20, Letters) reminds me of something I once read in Reader’s Digest. On the campus of an Ivy League college a visitor approached a student and asked, “Can you tell me where the main library is at?” The uppity student replied, “I am not accustomed to people ending a sentence with a preposition.” The visitor replied, “I’m sorry. Can you tell me where the main library is at, jackass?”Annie L. Brown
