    VOICES 05/06/08

I’m addressing Claire McCaskill’s smug remark that the Democratic candidate that emerges will be “very, very strong” (5/4, A-1, “Weary Dems grind along”). Wrong, Claire. If Obama emerges as the candidate, we will not only not vote for him — we will vote against him. Oh, and by the way, you have received your last vote from me also.

    Carolyn Hall

    Lee’s Summit

In the article “Danforth feels for Bush, Obama” (5/4, Local) Danforth supports John McCain 100 percent. Remember Danforth gave us Clarence Thomas and John Ashcroft.

Having an atheist article in the Faith section of the paper is like putting ketchup on a hot dog.

    Robert Shane

    Excelsior Springs

I look forward to the editorial cartoons, but I have to admit that Friday’s “Off the Easel” by Pat Oliphant (5/2, Opinion) with Rev. Wright riding Barack Obama, which would have given me a chuckle, became more offensive than humorous with the use of one profanity. What a shame to ruin an otherwise funny political observation.
