BLOG BITS: Financial irresponsibility; Exodus story

    Financial irresponsibility

I get frustrated, bordering on disgusted, with irresponsible personal finance.

To top it off, Congress, which got upset in the 1990s when lenders wouldn’t loan enough to people with less-than-ideal credit ratings, now jumps all over those same lenders for being “predatory” for lending too much to people with less-than-ideal credit ratings, while federal regulators stood by and watched under the oversight of, you guessed it, the Congress.

    Exodus story

Yossi Harel was brought to rest — the commander of the ship carrying “illegal immigrants” under the British Mandate period called “Exit Europe.” At the time that these survivors were at the French Port-de-Bouc, a small boat sneaked in. On that boat was my father, Moshe Sneh, who was responsible for all Aliyah Bet missions. In order to boost their morale , he spoke by megaphone to the 4,500 survivors.
