Paltrow to ‘wed’ Kidman
Gwyneth Paltrow will replace Charlize Theron in “The Danish Girl,” a film adaptation of a novel about the first post-operative transsexual.
The movie follows Danish artists Einar (Kidman) and Greta Wegener (Paltrow), who found success after Einar — the husband — stood in for a female model that Greta painted.
As their work grew popular, Greta encouraged her husband to keep dressing like a woman, eventually leading to his sex change operation in 1931.
Elizabeth Snead of The Los Angeles Times was less than impressed with the casting move.
“Two of the coldest and least sexy actresses in Hollywood? (Make that on the planet.) Whose idea was this?” she writes.
Chesney in 3D
Add Kenny Chesney to the list of performers — Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers — who get their own movies at the theaters.
Sony Pictures is bringing the country star to theaters in April in a limited-engagement run of “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D.”
Director Joe Thomas shot footage during Chesney’s recent Sun City Carnival tour.
“It was an amazing — and at times scary — experience to have cameras that close, in the air, in a blimp,” Chesney says.
“But when you see what this film captures ... even for me, who’s in the eye of the storm, I was taken aback.”
Taylor Lautner is ‘funnest’
Kristen Stewart sounds downright amazed at the transformation her “New Moon” co-star Taylor Lautner has undergone. And she’s not talking about the 3,200-calorie daily diet it took to turn him into a hunky werewolf.
“The eating was pretty hard. … Putting something in your mouth every two hours,” Lautner says. “I literally would have to carry a little baggie full of beef patties, raw almonds, sweet potatoes, so it’s not like every two hours I’m eating ice cream.”
Stewart says her castmate is a completely different person in other ways, too.
“I know that I’m using this grammatically incorrect, but he’s the funnest guy I’ve ever hung out with,” she says. “I’m so proud of him.”
Eva’s oops
Someone must have left the house in a big hurry.
A smokin’-hot Eva Mendes torched the red carpet recently at a screening of her new flick with Nicolas Cage, “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.”
First, photographers caught a glimpse of her, uh, nipple, showing the world she wasn’t wearing a bra under her Donna Karan blouse.
But even worse — in our opinion — were the white price stickers she left on the soles of her bejeweled black stilettos. Gasp!
She must have bought them at Marshalls.
Ashlee on Broadway
Who needs “Melrose Place” anyway? Just days after the nighttime TV soap dumped her, AshleeSimpson-Wentz has apparently lined up a gig to play Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of “Chicago.”
Sources say that 25-year-old Ashlee will start in the role in December for a six-week run.
When Lisa Gutierrez isn’t trying to scrape the price stickers off the soles of her new boots, she’s Stargazing among semi-accurate celebrity news accounts.
