This weekend in Kansas City

More News

I hope you’ve been working on your figure 8s. A Kansas City wintertime tradition, the Crown Center Ice Terrace, opens Friday. And here’s something to get you up and on the ice early: Free coffee, doughnuts and skating from 6 to 9 a.m. on opening day. If that’s too early for you, regular rink hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $6, adults older than 60 and children 4 and under are free. Skate rental is $3.

If you’re looking for a place to take a date this season, the rink stays open late — until 11 p.m. — Fridays and Saturdays in November and December. A cute couple I know had their first date there, and now they’re married. The Ice Terrace will be open through March 14. For details, call 816-274-8411 or go to www.crowncenter.com.
