Rihanna speaks — finally
Diane Sawyer has scored the first interview with Rihanna since the singer was assaulted by former boyfriend Chris Brown in February.
Rihanna’s one-on-one interview with Sawyer will air today and Friday on “Good Morning America” and Friday night on ABC’s “20/20.”
And why is she speaking now?
The interview coincides with the release of her new album: “Rated R” comes out on Nov. 23.
An Army apology
The U.S. Army, we kid you not, has apologized to Ryan Seacrest for the actions of one of its own.
The Los Angeles district attorney’s office on Monday charged Chidi Uzomah with felony stalking after the 25-year-old was arrested at the E! building where Seacrest does a daily radio and TV show.
On Tuesday, he pleaded not guilty to a felony stalking charge. If convicted, he faces a maximum of four years in state prison.
Uzomah serves in the Army Reserves in Upland, Calif. and is reportedly assigned to a special forces unit.
When contacted by TMZ, Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Nathan Banks issued this statement:
“We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously.”
Russell ready for rug rats
This kind of scares us.
It seems that Katy Perry has her new beau, bad-boy English comedian Russell Brand, thinking of — gasp! — kids.
In a recent interview, Brand said he was eager to start a family and leave his famously promiscuous ways behind him.
“Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with the calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years…” he says.
“I am ready for children, actually. It’s been seven years since I took drugs. I’ve made a film. I don’t have to fight so much. I’ve grown weary of the carousel.”
Run, Katy, run!
Ouija board: The movie
How many blondes does it take to get a Ouija board to work?
We were wondering that as we watched Sunday’s episode of “The Girls Next Door,” the one where Hugh Hefner’s new girlfriends “camped out” on the lawn of the Playboy mansion.
They pitched a tent, roasted wienies and then tried, unsuccessfully, to make a Ouija board work.
Maybe they should just go and see the movie.
Universal Studios has plans to create a “a supernatural action-adventure movie” based on the Ouija board and has hired some big-gun writers to make it happen: “Tron Legacy” writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who also wrote several episodes of “Lost.”
The Hollywood Reporter leaked these details: “It is possible that certain rules of the game — never use it alone, never use it in a graveyard, always say good-bye — figure into the plot.”
Can’t wait.
When Lisa Gutierrez isn’t searching for her old Ouija board, she’s Stargazing among hopefully accurate celebrity news reports.
