Executives’ compensation information was taken directly from proxy statements of Star 50 companies and reflects new reporting formats established by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Star 50 companies not listed had not yet reported compensation by April 20.
Totals reflect how much the company recorded in compensation expenses attributed to the executive for the year. These include portions of compensation granted in prior years that are being allocated over several years.
As such, some companies and consultants contend the totals do not reflect executive compensation for 2007. Others, however, argue that the compensation totals established by the SEC are definitive.
