The Missouri Comets crushed their cross-state rivals Thursday, pounding the St. Louis Ambush 27-6 in St. Charles, Mo., and locking up the third seed in the MISL playoffs.
Max Touloute scored five goals and Leo Gibson added four assists for the Comets, who swept the six-game series with St. Louis.
It was such an easy night for Missouri that after jumping to a 16-0 lead, it pulled goalkeeper Danny Waltman in favor of rookie Brendan Allen.
Missouri will play at Milwaukee in Sunday’s regular-season finale. The playoffs start March 9.
