Clay Chastain’s return

Clay Chastain is again in the news about a light-rail plan he campaigned for years ago and still persists like a madness, like a carnival of mystic pursuit, like a sinister merry-go-round of ghost horses, like that dream that makes for a restless nightmare in the middle of the night.

I’ve always wondered over the years who finances his efforts, especially because he lives in the East. Who in the shadows is he connected with?

Also, I’ve always wondered what keeps him pursuing, like a madness, something when he doesn’t live here, is not a part of this community and wouldn’t be paying for light rail if it were ever to pass.

Obamacare blame

Now that our president’s landmark achievement of Obamacare has proven to be a train wreck, liberals are back to their proven tactic of again blaming Republicans. Sorry, but that is ridiculous.

Democrats controlled Congress when it was passed. Not a single Republican voted for it.

... When asked what was in the legislation, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi famously said, “We will have to pass it to see.”

It is our president’s greatest achievement. The fact that it is a train wreck is simply indicative of what a lousy president he is.

Chris Christie show

How long will Americans allow themselves to be bamboozled by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie? If you want to see the definition of a buffoon, look under the letter C.

Essential security

We can’t have it both ways. Either we have a National Security Agency that will give this country an advantage over the bad guys or we have an NSA that is neutered. The bad guys attack this country in many ways, be it stealing your money by hacking retail commercial transactions, stealing industrial and military secrets or hijacking data from essential research institutions and businesses.

Does anyone believe that the bad guys will back down if the NSA is handcuffed or restricted from doing the best job it can? The bad guys range from international organized crime gangs trafficking in stolen credit data to North Korea, a bunch of nuclear-armed crazies who traffic in drugs and counterfeit currency, and who like to put their fellow countrymen in concentration camps and spout off that their goal is to see the U.S. go up in flames.

It usually takes a catastrophic event to remind Americans that national security is essential.
