10-year-old girl abducted in Springfield, Mo.

Police are searching for a 10-year-old girl abducted by a stranger in a pickup truck near her home Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, Mo.

An Amber Alert was issued for Hailey Owens, described as white, 5-feet-2-inches tall, 90 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and pierced ears. She was wearing blue jean shorts and purple sandals.

Springfield police said Hailey was pulled into a truck by a white man, about 45 years old, with gray hair and an unshaven face. The truck was described as a 2008 Ford Ranger with Missouri plates 1YF454 or 1YS454.

A witness told The Springfield News-Leader he saw the driver call Hailey to his truck and then grab her.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.
