During his Tonight Show debut, Fallon gave out his own comedic version of Olympic medals. In the bit he declared bronze medalist Holcomb most likely to find an old hot wing in his pocket.
Holcomb, 33, literally pushed through the pain of a nasty calf injury on Monday as he and teammate Steven Langton won the bronze in the two-man bobsled. The United States hadnt medaled in the event since 1952.
Asked about Fallons diss Tuesday by NBCs Dan Patrick, Holcomb shared that he actually did offer Jimmy a (bobsled) ride at the beginning of the season and he declined. He said he was scared.
It is what it is, he tried to take a jab at me and that's fine, Holcomb added. It happens. We'll work something out.
Later, Holcomb sent out a tweet to let everyone know hes really laughing this off: I'm a little offended @jimmyfallon. Seriously, how dare you assume I'm a teriyaki wing guy? I only eat Buffalo style.
We would love to see Jimmy Fallon inside a bobsled. You know that's where this is headed, right?
