A 69-year-old man received a broken rib and collapsed lung after he attempted to get a woman to dance with him at the Driftwood Lounge in the 1200 block of East MacArthur, near Hydraulic.

The incident happened at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Wichita police say.

“The man attempted to dance with the woman, she took exception and pushed him,” said Sgt. John Hoofer, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The man fell back onto a wooden bench and injured himself, police said.

He was transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. Police are seeking the woman, who is in her 20s.
