Olathe police find explosive device

Olathe police on Friday discovered a homemade explosive device while investigating an alleged forgery.

Officers were called just after 3 p.m. Friday to the 16600 block of West 135th Street to investigate the reported forgery. They found the device inside a vehicle driven by the forgery suspect.

The Olathe Fire Department and federal authorities were called, police said. The suspect was arrested for possessing the device, police said.
