Theres something about being aligned with homophobic Fred Phelps that may have caused the Senate to push the pause button when it comes to following the Kansas House down a blatant discrimination rat hole.

Senate President Susan Wagle on Thursday tried to take the Sunflower State out of the nationally hot spotlight by backing away from the House passed bill that enables people and businesses to refuse service to same-sex couples based on religious grounds. Phelps and members of the Topeka-based Westboro Baptist Church are known for anti-gay protests including at the funerals of military service personnel.
Maybe this is the start of a progressive correction in right-tilting Kansas.
