The Star’s high school athletes of the week for Feb. 13

Kirstin Parks

SCHOOL: Liberty North

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Swimming

Parks set the Suburban Blue Conference record in the 100-yard backstroke Saturday, touching the wall in 1 minute, 2.82 seconds. In helping the Eagles win the league title, Parks also placed second in the 200 individual medley and was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay team. She will compete in all three events at next week’s Missouri state meet.

Cameron Wiggins

SCHOOL: Leavenworth

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Basketball

Wiggins led Leavenworth with 24 points, which included five three-pointers, in a 49-42 victory against Olathe South last Friday. Wiggins has scored 20 points or more in nine of the Pioneers’ games this season.
