Updated: 2014-02-14T04:49:25Z

Burglars broke into the Bass Pro Shops store in Independence early Thursday and stole an undisclosed number of firearms and other items, police said.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm call about 3:20 a.m. at the store in the 18000 block of East Bass Pro Drive, just southwest of Interstate 70 and Missouri 291. Police did not immediately know how many or what type of firearms were stolen. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives is assisting with the investigation.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Investigators are waiting for the store’s management to provide them a copy of surveillance video, said Tom Gentry, police spokesman.

No other details were immediately available.
