Munday on Monday: Acquired taste

Acquired taste

Some skepticism is required

Whene’er you hear a taste’s “acquired.”

Be wary of “acquired” taste

(Which frequently is mushed like paste.)

It’s often highfalutin food;

By saying no, you’re viewed as rude.

A different view on tastes I’ll take —

I think initial judgments make

A lot of sense. You will or won’t;

You either like it, or you don’t.

The term “acquired” merely taunts:

It’s code for veggies no one wants.
