Decomposed body found in Roeland Park

Law enforcement officers are investigating a badly decomposed body that was found late Sunday afternoon in a wooded area of the 4700 block of Roe Avenue.

Sgt. Sylvester Birdsong of the Roeland Park Police Department said the body was still in place Sunday evening. Officers from the Roeland Park police and Johnson County Sheriff’s departments were on the scene investigating. No further information was immediately available about the body or how it was discovered.

The body was found in a wooded area on the west side of Roe Avenue about a quarter mile south of Interstate 35.
