Central Missouri picked to win MIAA baseball title

Central Missouri was picked to win the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in baseball, receiving 12 of 14 first-place votes in the preseason coaches’ poll released Thursday. The Mules finished 36-13 last season and reached the NCAA Central Regional.

Missouri Western, which finished 40-12 and won the conference’s regular-season title last year, was picked second. Central Oklahoma, which like the Griffons received one first-place vote, was third. Missouri Southern, which won the conference tournament last year, and Emporia State tied for fourth.
