Four area college basketball players chosen academic all-district

Four area college basketball players were chosen academic all-district Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America and are eligible for academic all-America honors.

The men’s players are Nebraska sophomore Shavon Shields and Johns Hopkins junior George Bugarinovic. Shields, from Olathe Northwest, was chosen in District 7, Division I, and Bugarinovic, from Blue Valley Northwest, was chosen from District 2, Division III.

The women’s players are UMKC senior Eilise O’Connor, chosen from District 6, Division I, and Pittsburg State junior Lizzy Jeronimus of Shawnee Mission West, who was chosen from District 7, Division II.
