Medical center CEO
Kevin J. Hicks is returning to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for his second stint as chief executive officer.
Hicks will officially assume his post on Saturday .
Since 2006, Hicks has been chief executive of Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Before that, he was chief executive at the Overland Park hospital from 2003 to 2006. Overland Park Regional and Research are both owned by HCA Midwest Health System, which is part of the HCA health care chain.
Hicks has worked for HCA since 1987, starting in El Paso, Texas. In 1993, he moved to Overland Park Regional.
The 350-bed hospital is undergoing a $110 million expansion for a new patient wing, emergency department and trauma center.
Matt Sogard, chief operating officer at Research, will be the interim chief executive at that hospital while HCA searches for a successor.
Engineering firm additions
Olsson Associates, an engineering and design services firm, said it recently hired Tony Stanton to lead the company’s water resources practice. He has served at the head of the firm’s Kansas City water resources team since 2004. The company, which has offices in Johnson County, also said Brent Johnson has been hired to succeed Stanton as leader of the firms Kansas City water resources practice.
Milagros Santos has been named director of research and development at TonerCycle/Ink Cycle, the Lenexa-based company that sells remanufactured injet and toner cartridges to retailers under private label agreements. She has been with the company for six years. Before that, Santos was a quality manager at Staples, the office supply retailer.
TonerCycle has more than 200 employees here and in Ventura, Calif. It said it plans to open a distribution center in Pennsylvania soon.
