“Creative Observer,” an exhibition of William Burroughs’ art and collections, is a multimedia experience that includes his collaborative works with Brion Gysin, Robert Rauschenberg, Kurt Cobain, Keith Haring, George Condo and other artists. Biographer Barry Miles will discuss his new book, “Call Me Burroughs,” the first full-length biography of William Burroughs to be published in a quarter century and the first one to chronicle the last decade of Burroughs’ life. Spencer Museum of Art

“William S. Burroughs: 100 Years of Expanding Consciousness” will include Burroughs’ 1992 portfolio of texts and images, “Seven Deadly Sins,” as well as works by Jon Blumb, Brion Gysin, Keith Haring, Roger Holden and Robert Mapplethorpe. “An Offbeat Literary Tribute,” with readings of Burroughs’ writing and reflections from poet Jim McCrary, who worked with Burroughs in Lawrence, is at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5. “Interzone, Celebrating William S. Burroughs’ 100 Years.” Described as an “experiential event to celebrate the life and times of William S. Burroughs.” 8 p.m.-3 a.m., Feb. 7. Secret location; travel details will be sent to ticketholders before the event.

The Stone

As part of a monthlong celebration of William Burroughs in the East Village, The Stone will present a two-week program of music inspired by or dedicated to his work. April 8-20, New York City., 212-473-0043
