On the way to the Uptown Theater: Slayer

Slayer announced its spring tour on Thursday, and Kansas City is on the list.

Slayer will headline a show at the Uptown Theater on May 13, a Tuesday.

Also on the bill: Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Prices: $35 to $55.

Gary Holt, lead guitarist for Exodus, will play with Slayer, filling the role of founding member Jeff Hanneman who died in May of liver failure. The rest of the lineup: guitarist Kerry King, bassist Tom Araya and drummer Paul Bostaph.
