If these two can’t stay together, is there any hope for the rest of us? The Captain & Tennille, the ’70s singing duo that gave us the hits “Love Will Keep Us Together” and “Muskrat Love,” are divorcing.

Arizona officials confirmed to news outlets that Toni Tennille, 73, filed for divorce from Daryl Dragon, 71 — aka the Captain — on Jan. 16.

The two, who have been married nearly 40 years, have no children and are reportedly still living together.

Dragon was a keyboard player for the Beach Boys before the two met; lead singer Mike Love reportedly nicknamed him “captain.” The two released their first album in 1974 and won a Grammy the following year. They also had a variety series on ABC.

In 2010, Tennille revealed on her blog that her husband had a neurological condition similar to Parkinson’s that caused him to have tremors, “pretty severe at times,” she wrote.

"Some days he does pretty well ... other days his playing is severely compromised.”

Surprised by the split? Apparently the Captain is, too.

"I don't know why she filed. … I gotta figure it out for myself first," he told TMZ.

“Do That To Me One More Time?”

Don’t think so.
