KCK wreck critically injures man

One person suffered what authorities described as critical injuries in a one-car accident Monday morning in Kansas City, Kan.

Emergency crews had to free a man from the vehicle, which struck a tree near North 75th Street and Parallel Parkway just after 10:30 a.m..

Emergency personnel cut doors from the car and also pulled back its roof and dashboard to gain access to the victim, who was taken to an area hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., police.
