Davidson is a private Christian school serving all grades. Quinn, who attended Middle Tennessee State, played in 17 games over five NFL seasons. He was with the Chiefs in 2002.
The Pioneers went 45-13 in Quinn’s tenure, winning two Heart of America Athletic Conference championships and appearing in the NAIA playoffs four times. In 2010, Mid-America reached the NAIA semifinals for the first time in school history.
“This was a hard decision, but it is the best interest of my family to go back home and still be around football at a Christian school,” Quinn said in a statement.
MidAmerica defensive coordinator Paul Hubbard will serve as interim coach.
