Chicken Macaroni & Cheese first opened on Prospect Avenue nearly three years ago. But that was just a carry-out business.

Now owners Dyamund Shields and Dyamund Shields Jr. have moved the restaurant south several blocks, opening in a freestanding building at 7025 Prospect Ave. with its own parking lot. They’ve turned the former beauty shop into cozy restaurant with bright white decor and seating at a counter or tables and chairs.

They’ve also expanded the menu. It now includes the chicken wafflewich (two boneless chicken breasts and two eggs between two waffles), burgers, philly sandwiches, pork chops, the chick-a-roni & cheese (chicken sandwich topped with mac-and-cheese), Lo Mein, General Hoss’s Chicken, chicken fried rice and barbecue rib tips. Breakfast is served all day.

Hours currently are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The owners plan a grand opening in the summer and will then extend the hours.
