Munday on Monday: Music lessons

Music lessons

When school lets out, the kids head home

Including those of note;

With music lessons over now,

Their instruments they tote.

Why, there’s a girl with small, thin case —

A flute, perhaps, she plays;

An older boy hefts larger box,

A trombone, how it weighs!

How varied are the cases here

And clutched in little hands;

The violins and horns indeed

Hold someday dreams of bands.

But here’s the kid I pity most,

Whose talent is refined:

The hapless lad on long way home…

Piano dragged behind!
