With strong fall seasons from its football and volleyball programs, Missouri finds itself 44th in the Learfield Cup standings after the fall.

That represents the Tigers’ best performance since the 2007-08 academic year when the program was 35th after the fall.

Missouri’s football team finished fifth in the final USA Today Coaches’ Poll after a 12-2 season that included an SEC East division title and a victory in the Cotton Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Tigers’ volleyball team finished 17th after an undefeated regular season. Missouri finished 35-1 and claimed the school’s first SEC championship in any sport before bowing out in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers’ best finish in the Learfield Cup is 36th in 2008-09 after finishing 38th in 2007-08.

Missouri sits fifth among SEC teams behind Arkansas (19th), Texas A&M (21st), Florida (29th) and South Carolina (42nd).

Alabama is 45th, while Mississippi (46th) and Auburn (50th) also cracked the top 50.

Reigning Learfield Cup champion Stanford once again sits in first place followed by Michigan State, Florida State, North Carolina and Virginia.
