Learn about KC streetcar construction at open house meetings

Updated: 2014-01-13T04:07:29Z

Three open house meetings are planned to inform the public about Kansas City’s downtown streetcar construction schedule and effects.

Construction starts in February, although the actual laying of track is likely to begin in May. The route runs from River Market to near Union Station.

The open house meetings will have no formal presentations. Participants can find out how the track, station stops and vehicles will look and how construction will affect downtown residents, businesses and customers.

The three hearings:

• Jan. 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Union Station Grand Hall, 30 W. Pershing Road.

• Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Central Library’s Helzberg Auditorium, 14 W. 10th St.

• Jan. 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Arabia Steamboat Museum atrium, 400 Grand Blvd.
